"We're not doing enough,"catholic youth speak about keeping their faith amidst abuse scandals

While I was chasing stories at CBC in Winnipeg, the Vatican was gearing up for a summit which gathered religious leaders from all over the world and aimed to address sexual abuse in the church.

Winnipeg has been rocked with its own share of scandal in the catholic community. Ronald Leger pleaded guilty in 2015 after allegations of sexual abuse by three men. Seven more have since come forward. In October, Roland Lanoie was arrested and charged with several counts of sexual assault. Both were ordained priests who worked with youth.

I spoke with three youth from Winnipeg, Anna Richard, Yssa Licsi, and Sebastian Aguilar. I invited them to speak with Ismaila Alfa on CBC Winnipeg's Information Radio so they could share their thoughts on maintaining faith in times of crisis. Listen below.

Sebastian Aguilar wrote an accompanying op-ed to this piece about his experience training to be a priest. You can read it here.
